An Azimushshan Doa Mahfil and an award distribution ceremony for meritorious students were held in Dohar, organized by the Dohar Upazila Qawmi Madrasa Board (Ittefaqul Madarisil Qawmiyyah Doha). The grand event took place on Thursday (July 9) at 11:00 AM on the premises of the Haller Bazar Model Mosque.
Khandaker Abu Ashfaq, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Dhaka-1 constituency and President of the Dhaka District BNP, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
In his address, MP Abu Ashfaq highly praised the significance of religious education and lauded the vital role Qawmi madrasas play in building a morally upright society. He encouraged the students to pursue both knowledge and values, urging them to grow into worthy, ideal citizens who will positively contribute to the country's future.
The event featured a profound religious discussion by the main speaker, Pir Saheb Allama Abdul Hamid of Madhupur. Prominent Islamic scholars, including Mufti Rizwan Rafiki, Mufti Habibullah Mahmud Qasemi, Mufti Muha: Zakir, and Mufti Mizanur Rahman Qasemi, also delivered valuable speeches as special discussants. Other notable guests included Professor Khandaker Abul Bashar, Hafez Maulana Abdur Rahim, and Maulana Abdul Malek.
During the ceremony, crests and awards were distributed to madrasa students who achieved outstanding results in various examinations. The initiative was highly appreciated by the attendees as a great motivation for Islamic learners.
The program saw a spontaneous gathering of leading Ulama-e-Keram from the Dohar Upazila Qawmi Madrasa Board, teachers, students from various local madrasas, political leaders, and local dignitaries. The event concluded with a special munajat (prayer) led by the respected scholars, seeking peace, welfare, and prosperity for the country, the nation, and the Muslim Ummah.
