A 10th class schoolboy named Rabbi (15) drowned after taking a bath in Pagla river at Kansat in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district. Son of Rafiqul Islam of Kansat Bazar in Rabbi Upazila. The deceased was identified Fahan Rabbi of Hajipara under Kansat Union in the upazila, said Chowdhary Jobair Ahmad, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station.

Rabbi was a class 10 student of Shibganj North Bengal Residential School and College, the OC told our Chapainawabganj correspondent.

He (Rabbi) went down to the river to take bath around 2:30 pm and drowned, said the OC. On information, a fire service team came to the spot and recovered Rabbi's body after searching for an hour, said the police official. As there was no complaint, the rabbi's body was handed over to his family for burial without an autopsy, added the police official.
