Three persons were dead in two road accidents today in Cumilla. Two people on a motorcycle were dead after being hit by a lorry at Nazira Bazar area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway under Burichong upazila in the district, reports our Cumilla correspondent quoting Belal Uddin Jahangir, officer-in-charge of Mainamati Highway Police Station.

The deceased were identified as Md Morshed (22) and Ananda (18). Quoting eyewitnesses, the OC said a Chattogram-bound lorry hit the motorcycle at Nazira Bazar area – leaving Morshed and Ananda dead on the spot.

The bodies will be handed over to the victims' family members after taking legal action, he added. Besides, another person was dead after a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Jafarganj area on Cumilla-Sylhet highway, reports our local correspondent quoting Mausd Alam, inspector of Mirpur Highway Police Outpost. The deceased, Alamgir Hossain (45), son of Keramat Ali, was a resident of Debidwar upazila, added the police officer.
