Former Bangladesh national cricket team captain and batsman Mohammad Ashraful contracted coronavirus on Sunday.The Barishal Division cricketer is now in isolation at a hotel in the Capital. He was supposed to play in the second round of National Cricket League (NCL) starting from tomorrow.

On the other hand, opener Shadman Islam still recovering from the virus as he tested positive in the second test. The southpaw has isolated himself at his home.

Pacer Ebadat Hossain also gave samples to test for coronavirus for the second time but he still did not get the result. So he will be out of the action for the second round of NCL starting from tomorrow. 

Before the start of the NCL, all cricketers and match officials were tested for corona. All tested negative except opener Sadman Islam and a reserve umpire from Khulna. The umpire was negative in the second test but Sadman was tested positive in the second round test. Then BCB brought him from Barishal to Dhaka under special arrangements. Gave samples for the third test. The left-handed batsman will be ready to play as soon as he receives the report. Meanwhile, the rest are also waiting to get the results of the Corona Test.
