A former chairman Keochia Union Parishad was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants at his own residence in Satkania upazila of Chattogram early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Haque.

Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Satkania Police Station, said that the body was recovered and sent to a hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Satkania Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Zakaria Rahman Jiku said, "We visited to the spot around 10:00am after getting the news of the murder. The matter is being investigated”.
