The father-in-law was killed by his son-in-law in a family quarrel at Chhatrapara of Durgapur village in Laxmanpur union of Sharsha upazila. The murder took place at 8 am on Tuesday. Witnesses in the area said that when Abu Musa went to fetch his grandson Aryan (4) from his grandfather’s house at around 8 am,

at one stage of the argument between the two parties, his son-in-law Tuhin (25) and his younger brother Ruhin (20), their father Abdul Quddus ( 55), Uncle Susan (45) and a few others started beating randomly with local weapons like da, boti, bamboo, stick and rod. At one point in the beating, Musa died on the spot. Instead, locals and relatives rescued him and took him to Sharsha Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead. Death Abu Musa is the son of Manchar Biswas of the same village.

It may be mentioned that Tuhin, the son of Quddus of the same village, got married to the daughter of Abu Musa 5 years ago. They have a 4-year-old son in their family. They got divorced two months ago. Admitting the incident, Sharsha police sub-inspector Sabbir Hossain said the case was under process. When the case is over, the body will be sent to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
