Special doa and munajat were offered today at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of independence of Bangladesh.

Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IF) organized the special events after Jummah prayers, a press release said.

Eternal peace of departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members were sought in the special prayer.

Mufti Mawlana Ehsanul Haque conducted the munajat attended by State Minister for Religious Affairs M Faridul Haque Khan, Religious Affairs Secretary M Nurul Islam, Organizing Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Ahmed Hossain, Dhaka South city unit Awami League General Secretary Humayun Kabir, Islamic Foundation directors, employees and a large number of Muslim devotees.

Besides, all the mosques across the country also held special doa and munjat to commemorate Bangabandhu, his family members and the freedom fighters.
