Sheikh Hasina one of 3 successful government heads in COVID fight

Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is among the top three leaders in the fight against coronavirus (Covid-19) among the 54 heads of the government of the Commonwealth.

In a special announcement on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2021 on March 4, the names of the top three leaders were announced by the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Patricia Scotland QC.

In a special statement, the Commonwealth Secretary-General described the heads of government of the three countries as “extraordinary women leaders and deep inspiration”. She also mentioned the successful leadership of the three Prime Ministers in their respective countries in tackling the global epidemic coronavirus.

This information was given in a press release sent from Bangladesh High Commission in London on Friday.

“I would like to mention three extraordinary leaders among the Commonwealth countries. They are the Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina,” said Commonwealth Secretary-General.

She added that they have shown remarkable leadership in their respective countries in tackling the epidemic coronavirus. “These three personalities, along with many other men and women around the world, have inspired me to build a better future and a safe and secure world,” said Patricia Scotland.
