Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud warned that any troublemaker will not be tolerated.

“We are unequivocally saying that we are determined to crack down on those who have tried in the past and are still trying to destabilize the country by attacking minorities," he said.

He was addressing at a meeting on the occasion of the eighth death anniversary of late President Zillur Rahman at Manik Mia Auditorium of the National Press Club on Friday noon.

Speaking as the chief guest, the joint general secretary of the Awami League said, “Any such troublemaker will not be tolerated. I will request the BNP to return to the trend of healthy politics by avoiding the anti-politics of creating chaos.” 

The Information and Broadcasting Minister said that while the country is moving forward, when foreigners are praising Bangladesh, foreign heads of state are coming to Bangladesh, e praising the country for moving forward on the golden jubilee of Independence and Mujib Year through video messages, then a new conspiracy has started in the country. 

Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that they have chosen the path of conspiracy after failing to deal with Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina politically. The attack on the minorities of Shalla upazila in Sunamganj is part of this conspiracy.  

The meeting was presided over by MA Karim, President of Zillur Rahman Parishad. Advocate Balram Poddar, Arun Sarkar Rana, and leaders and activists of Zillur Rahman Parishad were also present in the performance of Akhtaruzzaman Khoka, General Secretary of the organization.
