Online training on "Treatment and Management of Drug Dependent Prisoners" in prison has completed

June 15 the online training on "Basic Drug Treatment and Management Training for Prison Staff ” has ended, where 13 Central Prisons of the country have attended. The training was organized by the Bangladesh Prisons Department and Dhaka Ahsania Mission through a joint project of the Department of Security Services, Ministry of Home Affairs. Project was funded by GIZ on behalf of German and British Governments.

A total of 117 prison officers and staff of 13 Central Prisons of the country participated in this training through three batches under the supervision of the Health sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission. Training was conducted by an internationally certified expert trainer on drug addiction.

Certificates will be distributed to all training participants. The training started on May 29. Mr. Khairul Alam Sheikh, Additional Secretary, Department of Security Services, Ministry of Home Affairs was present as the Chief Guest at the inaugural function and Brigadier General Md. Mominur Rahman Mamun, Inspector General of Prisons was present as the Special Guest.

Beside the online training on “Treatment and Management of Drug Dependent Prisoners” The said project implemented by Dhaka Ahsania Mission and GIZ Bangladesh has already provided training to the prison staff about Covid-19 preparedness and mental health issues.
