A mother and her son have been killed in the Banani’s Karail slum in the capital. The allegation was made against the husband of the deceased, who is currently absconding. 

Neighbors saw the bodies of the mother and son in the slum on Tuesday morning.

Confirming the matter, Banani Police Station OC Noor-e-Azam Mia said the body of Hasi and her child Nirob was recovered from the lake behind the residence of a doctor at Banani Karail Boubazar. Two are thought to have been killed by strangulation.

He added that the police were trying to find out the details of the incident. The bodies are being sent to two hospital morgues.
