Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the government led by Sheikh Hasina is minority friendly. So the government is always on the side of the minorities.

He came up with the comments at a regular briefing at his official residence on Friday.

Obaidul Quader said BNP's rule was the name of panic to minorities. Those who destroy communal harmony in this country are allies of BNP.

The present government led by Sheikh Hasina is committed to the coexistence and security of followers of all religions, the Awami League general secretary said, "As always, a vicious circle is trying to destroy the harmony between people of different religions in the country. They have resorted to various tactics and conspiracies to cover up their political bankruptcy." 

Mentioning that Sheikh Hasina sees crime as a crime, Obaidul Quader said that the Prime Minister has directed to take strict action after investigating the Sunamganj incident. Those involved in this incident will have to be punished as in the past.

He said, "I am expressing deep sympathy to the family members of the victims of the Sunamganj incident. At the same time, I call for patience. Those involved in such heinous crimes must be punished."

The Awami League general secretary said that the BNP leaders are trying to hide the real culprits by blaming the Awami League for the Sunamganj incident. Because the politics of BNP is to contain communal evil forces.

Obaidul Quader said, with the unity of the pro-liberation forces, the Sheikh Hasina government will never allow the racist evil forces that destroy harmony in this country to rise again.
