Fatullah cylinder explosion death toll hits 3

Another one of the six burnt people died on Friday in the incident of a cylinder explosion on the sixth floor of a building at Fatullah in Narayanganj. With this, the death toll from the incident climbed to three.

The deceased was identified as half-year-old child Minhaj, son of Md. Bishal died from the same incident on Tuesday night. 

Confirming the child’s death, Partho Shankar Paul, a resident physician at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital, said that Minhaj died on Friday while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Another victim named Mahfuzul Islam died on Thursday at around 1:30 pm while undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

It is to be mentioned that six members of the same family including women, child were burnt in a cylinder explosion on the sixth floor of a building at Masdaire’s Patenga area in Fatullah, Narayanganj on Monday (March 8) night. All were admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on the same night.

Among the victims – Md. Bishal’s body was 90 percent burnt, Bishal’s wife Mita was 14 percent, daughter Afsana was 10 percent, son Minhaj was 50 percent, Mahfuzul Islam was 80 percent and Sabbir’s body was burnt 42 percent.
