Dhaka-Delhi sign 5 MoUs

Bangladesh and India today signed five memorandum of understanding (MoUs) and opened several projects between the two countries. India has donated 109 ambulances and 12 lakh corona vaccines to Bangladesh.

The MoU was signed at a meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday evening. Besides, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally handed over the keys and vaccine of the ambulance to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The MoUs are on Disaster Management, Resilience and Mitigation, Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC), National Cadet Corps of India (INCC) and Establishment of a Framework of Cooperation in the area of Trade RemedialMeasures between Bangladesh and India.

Earlier, Sheikh Hasina welcomed her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at the Prime Minister's Office at 5 pm at the Tiger Gate. After that, an hour-long meeting was held at the Prime Minister's Office between representatives of the two countries. Five MoUs were signed in the presence of the two leaders. Several projects were inaugurated and 109 ambulances and 12 lakh corona vaccines were handed over to Bangladesh during the meeting.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed progress achieved in the areas of health, trade, connectivity, energy, development cooperation and many more issues.After a two-day visit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will leave Dhaka for Delhi at 9 pm tonight.
