Health Minister Zahid Maleque today said about 3,000 new beds have been increased across the country in preparation for the treatment of COVID patients.The minister made the remarks at a press conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

Despite the increase in the number of Covid-19 patients in the country, no decision has been taken about the lockdown, said the minister. “But the emphasis is given on compliance with hygiene rules.” 

He added that most of the people who visited various tourist destinations and attended social events were infected with the coronavirus.

Zahid Maleque said mobile courts would be operated if necessary to control the outbreak of pandemic coronavirus. The Ministry of Health has written a letter to the Cabinet Division requesting to conduct a mobile court.
