Heat wave sweeping over country likely to continue

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Tuesday predicted that a mild heat wave is sweeping over many places of the country and it may continue in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today. 

"Mild heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and the regions of Rajshahi & Pabna and the districts of Nilphamari and it may continue," according to a Met office release issued today. 

The weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country during the period. 

Besides, day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, the release added. 
 
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded yesterday by 38.5 degrees Celsius at Sitakunda under the Chattogram division while the minimum temperature today was recorded by 16.4 degrees Celsius at Srimangal under the Sylhet division. 

Today’s sunset in the capital at 6:11 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise at 5:58 am.
