Head coach of National hockey team Mahbub Harun was admitted to a hospital in the capital on Saturday after contracting coronavirus.

Ehsan Rana, a former hockey player of Abahani Club, said that Harun was tested tested positive for the virus on Friday and was admitted to the hospital on Saturday morning after his condition slightly deteriorated.

The Hockey federation appointed former captain Harun as the head coach of the national team last year.

Bangladesh will take part in the Asian Champions Trophy Hockey to be held in Dhaka this year.
