Uttarakhand Police uses Kohli zero to educate drivers

Uttarakhand Police did not spare India skipper Virat Kohli's poor run of form as they used the example of the right-hander's dismissal on zero against England in their first T20I on Friday to raise driving awareness.

In the first game of the five-match series, Kohli got out on a duck in an attempt to add quick runs to the scoreboard. Kohli was caught by Chris Jordan off Adil Rashid's delivery in the third over and his dismissal reduced India to three for two.

And the Uttarakhand Police department decided to poke fun at this. They tweeted a picture of Kohli walking off the pitch, with his helmet still on with a message saying, "A helmet is not enough! It is necessary to drive in full consciousness. Otherwise, like Kohli, you too can be out on zero."

It was the third time that the Indian skipper was dismissed without scoring in his last five innings across formats as England beat the hosts convincingly by eight wickets in the first T20I in Ahmedabad.

Kohli's last big score in T20 was an 85 against Australia in December. The tweet might have gotten a few laughs but many fans sided with the India skipper and criticised the police force for making fun of a player who produced match-winning knocks for the country many times over the years. Many also reminded the time when Jaipur Traffic Police had to apologize to India pacer Jasprit Bumrah after using an image of the pacer overstepping in the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy against Pakistan to warn drivers to stay behind the line at red lights. Uttarakhand Police, however, later removed the post from Twitter.
