Today Bangladesh's Nobel laureate Professor Mohammad Yunus will receive the 'Olympic Laurel' medal at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics-2021.

Olympic Laurel' was launched in 2016 at the Rio Olympics. For the first time, the award was given to Kenya's legendary Olympic champion Kip Kino.

Professor Mohammad Yunus is being given this award in particular because of its contribution to the development of sports, including the creation of the social business network Yunus Sports Hub.

Professor Yunus has worked closely with the IOC on projects such as the Young Leaders Program, Imagine Youth Camp and Athlete 365 Business Accelerator.
