We all know a terrible pandemic is going on in the world right now because of corona virus.Nowadays a common curiosity is in everyone's mind and that is corona virus, its effects, its vaccine, who is going to be attacked by this and so on.

✔️The risk of coronavirus infection to pregnant women & newborn babies is generally low but not negligible. However, pregnant women are more likely to have severe coronavirus infection if-

⚠️they have underlying health complications like diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma.

⚠️they are overweight

⚠️they are aged 35 years or more.

Most of the babies are born prematurely if their mother got coronavirus with symptoms during their pregnancy.

✅We have talked about the risks and effects of Covid19 on pregnancy. Now we are going to focus on coronavirus vaccine & pregnancy. Coronavirus vaccines are recommended in pregnancy as it is the best way to protect against the known risks of coronavirus for both mothers & their babies.

☑️The Pfizer/BioN Tech and Moderna Covid19 vaccines are the preferred vaccines for pregnant women according to many reports. Those vaccines will be given in two doses.Pregnant women are advised to take two doses because the completion of the course is likely to be important for longer term protection.

It is recommended that you should complete the course of vaccination if you find out about your pregnancy after you've received your first dose of the vaccine.

✅Same goes with breastfeeding mothers.According to WHO & the Joint Committee On Vaccination & Immunization, any suitable corona virus vaccine can be given to lactating mothers. The vaccines do not pass through breastmilk, but antibodies do ; with a hope that breastfed babies might have some level of protection.

✔️You shouldnot stop breastfeeding to be vaccinated against coronavirus rather you can continue normal breastfeeding after vaccination.
