Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh's Joint Secretary General Mamunul Haque has been arrested from the Mohammadpur area of ​​the capital on Sunday afternoon. 

Confirming the information, DB Joint Commissioner Mahbub Alam said Central Joint Secretary General of Hifazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Mamunul Haque was arrested from Jamia Rahmania Madrasa in Mohammadpur around 1:00 pm. 

Mahbub Alam added that he has been arrested in a case filed on May 5, 2013, in connection with the Hefazat violence at Shapla Chattar. Besides, there are several cases against him with Narayanganj's Sonargaon police station and Dhaka's Motijheel police station. He will be remanded for questioning in these cases. 

Meanwhile, Harun-Ur-Rashid, DC of Tejgaon zone in the capital, said that Mamunul Haque, joint secretary general of Hifazat-e-Islam, has been taken to the office of the deputy commissioner of Tejgaon division.
