Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Macron needed mental treatment for such an attitude towards Islam. Muslim countries are calling for a boycott of French goods.

French products have already been removed from shelves in various markets in Qatar and Kuwait in response to boycott calls. Twitter hashtags are becoming popular in other countries of the region, including Saudi Arabia, calling for a boycott of French products.
