49 lakh 90 thousand 232 people have been vaccinated so far against coronavirus in the country. Of these, 31 lakh 24 thousand 728 are men and 18 lakh 65 thousand 504 are women. Meanwhile, 63 lakh 78 thousand 627 people have registered for vaccination.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said these on Tuesday in a press release signed by its director Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman.

According to the DGHS, 78,330 people across the country have been vaccinated (1st dose) against coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Of these, 43,995 are males and 34,335 are females.So far, 15 lakh 98 thousand 91 people have been vaccinated in the Dhaka division, of which 7,92,212 from Dhaka metropolis.

Besides, 10,14,913 people in Chattogram division, 6,46,042 in Khulna division, 5,58,242 in Rajshahi division, 4,99,889 in Rangpur division, 2,59,878 in Sylhet division, 2,28,803 in Mymensingh division, and 2,28,374 in Barishal division have taken the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine so far.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Covid-19 vaccination program on January 27. On that day 21 people were vaccinated. The next day, 546 people were vaccinated in 5 hospitals in the capital. After that, the nationwide mass vaccination program started from February 7.
