Chemistry Olympiad: Bangladesh team in Switzerland

The Bangladesh team is now in Switzerland to participate in the International Chemistry Olympiad. A team of six, including four students and two mentors, arrived in Switzerland on Monday (July 17) to participate in the 55th International Chemistry Olympiad. Bangladesh is participating in this international competition for the second time.


Bangladesh is represented in the 55th International Chemistry Olympiad by Abhishek Majumdar Santu, student of Birshrestha Noor Mohammad College, Ahad Islam, student of Tolaram College, Narayanganj, Lihan Haider, student of Dhaka Residential Model College and Arya Kar, student of Notre Dame College.


They are mentored by Professor Mohammad Wahab Khan, former teacher of BUET and Chief Mentor of Bangladesh Chemistry Olympiad and Assistant Professor of Biochemistry and Microbiology Department of North South University Mohammad Kabir Uddin.


Kabir Uddin said, we are participating in this event for the second time. Last time our boys got a bronze medal. Hope we will do well this time too.


Note that 900 competitors from 90 countries of the world are expected to participate in this year's event. The competition will continue till July 25 in Zurich, Switzerland.


Bangladesh Chemical Society is under overall supervision of Bangladesh Chemistry Olympiad team.
