The Brazil-Mexico match was not resolved in 90 minutes in the fight to reach the final of the Olympic football. However, Brazil lost to Mexico 4-1 on penalties in the final. Neither side was able to score until the allotted time and the match was played in extra time.

The match starts at 2pm Bangladesh time on Tuesday (August 3) at the Kashima Soccer Stadium. The current gold-winning Brazil continues to attack one after another on the field. All attacks failed, however, to Mexico's experienced goalkeeper Guillermo Achoa.

The players of the two teams could not score a goal in the second half like in the first half. As a result, 15 minutes and a total of 30 minutes of extra time will be played. If the goal is not scored in these two halves, the match will be played in a tie breaker. Brazil, meanwhile, lost to Germany and Saudi Arabia in Group D and drew against Ivory Coast. However, the Selecao secured the last four by defeating Egypt 1-0 in the quarter.

Mexico, on the other hand, won Group A against France and South Africa. Despite losing against Japan, they did not have a problem to get a place in the quarter. The Mexicans beat South Korea 6-3 in the last four to secure a place in the semis.
