BCB to hold meeting following Shakib speech

Shakib Al Hasan has taken a leave from the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, the incident is quite old. However, the discussion on the issue is not stopping at all. In this situation, Shakib explained the letter that he sent to the board asking for leave on Facebook Live on Saturday. Disturbance has started among the cricket fans following Shakib's Facebook Live. In this situation, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will sit in the meeting on the Shakib issue.

Shakib pointed his finger to Akram Khan, chairman of the BCB's cricket operations committee. Shakib said that his letter to the BCB was focused on his plan to prepare for the T20 World Cup, but Akram Khan, the BCB's cricket operations chairman, said that Shakib doesn't want to play the two Tests against Sri Lanka, to be held from April 21 to May 3.

When asked about the issue Akram Khan said, "I would sit with the board president. I'm not talking about it right now. After the meeting with the board president, I will be able to respond to this."

Meanwhile, Shakib said in an interview on Facebook live on Saturday, "Akram bhai especially has repeatedly said that I don't want to play Tests. I think he said it again in an interview yesterday. I think he never read the letter. People should have a clear idea that I wanted to play the IPL even if ODIs were scheduled during this time."

"I did not mention that I don't want to play test. I wrote in the letter that I want to play in the IPL at this time. At that time there could have been something other than the test," Shakib added.
