The reckless snatching cycle around Eid is looting people's belongings in different parts of Dhaka by showing fear of weapons at noon. There is no limit to looting money. They are taking people's lives if they prevent snatching. There is panic in the minds of the people after two people were killed by snatchers in two separate places in Dhaka recently. Even members of the law enforcement agencies often fail to identify the hijackers. Occasionally those who are being arrested and sent to jail are also doing the same thing again after being released on bail through loopholes in the law. This does not reduce the violence of the snatchers. Rather new snatching cycles are constantly being created.

During the period of COVID-19, a class of people went out of their livelihood. Where before he was able to run the family by doing something or other, now it is not possible. So many are forced to step on the path of crime. There are at least a dozen gangs of professional snatchers in Dhaka. These cycles traverse various alleys from the highways of Dhaka. Each cycle has at least twenty members. Those who were caught by the law enforcement agencies have been jailed as accused in multiple cases. The members of the kidnapping ring use different tactics. The most horrible snatching cycle is the snatching cycle with towel parties and private cars. Many people die when they fall into the hands of these two chakras.

Before Eid, people have less money. Many carry money with them for various activities starting from shopping. And these people are targeted by snatchers. Many times the robbers go to the bank and take position. When someone comes out with a large amount of money, he targets them and snatches the opportunity. After Iftar, when the roads are empty and in the morning when passengers from different places or someone with special needs go out of the house, the snatchers snatch them away in fear. If anyone interferes with their work, they kill him. In the last few years, many passengers have lost their lives after falling prey to the towel party. Some CNG drivers also work in snatching cycles. When the passengers get on their CNG for rent, they take it to a convenient place and run away with money and mobile.

Sunita Rani Das(50), left home early on Wednesday morning. At around 6 a.m in the morning, his nephew Sujit was going to Shantinagar in a rickshaw from his home in Maniknagar. The rickshaw carrying them crossed the Kamalapur railway station and reached in front of the Motijheel BRTC bus depot. Then the snatcher pulled Sunita's bag from the private car coming from behind. Sunita fell to the ground from the moving rickshaw. He died of a head injury. Sunita used to work as a cleaner in the Basabo Buddhist temple in Dhaka. The next day, police recovered the body of Subhash Chandra Sutradhar (32) with a towel wrapped around his neck at Kuril Flyover in Khilkhet on Thursday. He was returning home from Dubai on November 13, 2019. The robbers snatched the money and mobile phone of a businessman named Zahid Hasan at Jatrabari crossroads at noon on Sunday.

Incidents of snatching are happening all the time in Dhaka. But in most cases no case is being registered in the police station unless there is an incident like death. Many make general diaries for special needs. If there is no case, the police do not give much importance to these incidents. Apart from this, there are no statistics on the amount of snatching due to lack of lawsuits. To avoid the hassle, the victims are confined to writing through the highest social media.

According to an intelligence source, there have been more than 50 robberies in Dhaka in the last 10 days. These incidents took place after Iftar and in the morning. There have been about 15 cases and GDs in more than 50 cases. Most of the GDs about  have lost important things including mobile, voter ID.
