Dr. Rubana Haque becomes member of Human Rights Commission

Dr. Rubana Haque has become a member of the National Human Rights Commission’s (NHRCB) Committee on Business, Human Rights and Corporate Social Responsibility.Dr. Rubana, the president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) – an association of garment owners.

“Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed, a member of the commission, has given us a direction in a meeting on Monday,” Rubana Haque told the media.

Due to this appointment, Rubana Haque will now work as a part of the Bangladesh National Human Rights Commission (NHRCB), a national bar organization for the promotion and protection of human rights. Former secretary Nasima Begum is serving as the chairman of the commission. Former secretary Kamal Uddin Ahmed is acting as a member of the commission. 

Besides, senior Supreme Court lawyer Towfika Aftab, former Rangamati district council chairman Chinkiu Royaja, former senior district and session judge Jasmine Ara Begum, former district and session judge Mizanur Rahman Khan and former secretary Namita Haldar were also serving as the member of the commission.
