US troops will not be allowed to set up bases in Pakistan: Imran Khan

In an interview with US media outlet HBO Axios on Sunday, June 20, Imran Khan said that Pakistan would work together for peace in Afghanistan but would not allow US forces to establish bases in Pakistan.

Therefore, the United States will not be allowed to build any military base in Pakistan, said Imran Khan. But he says Pakistan will continue to work with whichever party the people of Afghanistan trust. In other words, the interests of the United States and Pakistan are now the same. That is, the stability of Afghanistan and the end of terrorism.

Asked if Imran Khan would allow the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to use Pakistani territory to conduct operations against Al Qaeda, IS and Taliban militants, Axis reporter Jonathan Swan said in an interview that he was clear. It is not possible to give such permission.

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has also said that Pakistan will never allow the United States to use military bases. He will not accept any drone strike inside Pakistan.

Welcoming Imran Khan's announcement, Taliban spokesman Sohail Mahin later called from Doha and told The Nation that it was inappropriate to seek US military bases in Pakistan. And Pakistan has made the right decision in this regard.
