Fizz will be given NOC to skip national duty for IPL

Cutter master Mustafizur Rahman will be given a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in the upcoming Indian Premier League, if he decides to apply. Shakib Al Hasan has been permitted to skip the Sri Lanka Tests and feature in the IPL, and Mustafizur will be dealt with similarly, confirmed BCB's cricket operation chairman Akram Khan.

Rajasthan Royals picked Mustafizur at his base price of INR 1 Crore during the IPL players draft on Thursday. "We will surely give NOC to Mustafizur if he applies for it. We have given NOC to Shakib and it will be the same for Mustafizur," Akram told the reporters on Friday.

"The board decided that whoever will ask NOC, we will give because it is useless to insist someone who is not willing to play," he said. Earlier, BCB had denied Mustafizur a NOC to play in the IPL.

BCB had earlier also revealed plans to allow Bangladeshi players to take part in only two franchise-based T20 tournaments per year. However, the board eventually moved away from this stand and allowed Shakib with the NOC to take part in the IPL, at the expense of national duty. It might well be the same for Mustafizur this time around.
