‘Too many misses cause Tigers defeat to Kiwis by 5wkts

Although the Bangladesh national team played quite well throughout the match, “too many catch-misses”  and opportunity caused the Tigers’ defeat to Black Caps by five wickets at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Tuesday. With this, the Kiwis bagged the ODI series against the Tigers.

Tom Latham made a century and scored unbeaten 110 runs off 108 balls with 10 fours. Besides, Devon Conway scored 72 runs and James Neesham contributed 30 runs to win the match for New Zealand.

In reply to 272 runs, Martin Guptill and Henry Nicholls opened the innings for New Zealand. Guptill flicked the ball of Mustafizur Rahman in the sixth over of the innings. The Fizz easily caught the catch and made the Tigers happy. Guptill returned to the dug-out with 20 runs off 24 balls.

Then Henry Nichols was bowled by Mahedi Hasan in the third ball of his first over. He made 13 runs off 18 balls. Later, Will Young was also bowled by Mahedi for just one run.

Although Bangladesh got the opportunity to dominate the match, they could not use these properly. They missed too many catches and miss-field throughout the Black Caps’s innings – which later caused a “series defeat” to New Zealand.

The hosts overcame the crisis with the help of Devon Conway and captain Tom Latham. The pair scored 67 runs partnership.Tom Latham made his career’s fifth century in 101 balls, leading the team to the victory end.Mustafizur Rahman and Mahedi Hasan took two wickets each.
