Daffodil International University is the only institution in Bangladesh to excel in information and communication technology and online education by receiving the 'Global ICT Excellence Award 2021'. Daffodil International University was recognized by the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), an alliance of IT organizations from around the world.

The award was announced in the presence of representatives of 85 member states of the World Congress on Information Technology 2021 (WCIT-2021) World Conference on Information and Communication Sector held in Dhaka on Saturday (November 14) hosted by Bangladesh.

Daffodil International University Vice-Chancellor Prof. on behalf of the University. SM Mahbub-ul Haq Majumder received the award from Witsar Regional Director Shahid ul Munir. Witsar Secretary General said. James H. Pozant, Planning Minister MA Mannan, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University. Md. Sabur Khan, NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary, Department of Information and Communication Technology and other leading personalities in the field of IT were present.

This year's award ceremony was significant. In particular, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina received the Witsa Eminent Person Award and Witsa Secretary General. The award was presented to the Prime Minister by State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak on behalf of the Prime Minister.

Only 3 organizations from Bangladesh got the honor of receiving awards in different categories in this year's Witsa. One of them is Daffodil International University. On the eve of the award announcement, Witsar Chairman Yannis Siros said that 100 single and notable organizations have been nominated for the 2021 Global ICT Excellence Award. Among them, Daffodil International University won the honor of being the best by competing with everyone in the judging of the jury board.

IT experts from 65 countries around the world nominate various technology companies and individuals for the award. Daffodil International University is a unique digital university in Bangladesh and contributes to the development of IT by providing visible and effective use of information technology, providing IT benefits to significant people, innovative use of information technology at different levels and providing awareness and inspiration to large population.
