CID has detained three people on charges of embezzling Tk 15 lakh from a businessman in Noakhali's Sonaimuri. The arrestee accused were sent to jail through a judicial court at 2pm on Saturday.

Noakhali CID Special SP Mohammad Bashir Ahmed confirmed the information in a press release today.

According to a press release, the three accused were arrested in a raid on a rented house in Paterbagh area adjacent to Bank Colony under Kadamtali Police Station in Dhaka under the leadership of Investigating Officer SI Mohammad Noman, CID Noakhali in collaboration with DMP Jatrabari Police Station.

Detainees are Md. Jahangir Sheikh Zakir, son of Tofazzal Hossain of Devraj village of Moralganj police station of Bagerhat district, Sanwar Hossain Sanu Hasan, son of Shahab Uddin Fakir of East Dattapara area of Tongi police station, Md. Ruhul Amin is the son of Abdur Rashid Hawladar of Katadia village under Tongibari police station in Munshiganj district. At that time, seven mobile phones used for cheating and Tk 1,15,442 were recovered from the accused.

Md Farooq, a businessman, who is the victim in the fraud case, paid Tk 10 lakh in cash to the accused on different dates in June last year. In addition, the same accused took Tk 15,30,000 through bKash for furniture. Later, the plaintiff, realizing that he had been cheated, filed a case against the accused at Sonaimuri police station. 

The organized group is involved in the embezzlement of crores of taka through fraud, said police.
