The ongoing lockdown may extend for another week as the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in the country becomes worrisome. For this, a meeting has been called next Monday to review the lockdown situation. Confirming the matter on Saturday, a senior Cabinet official said the pandemic COVID infection is still high, as a result, “the lockdown may extend for another week.” However, a decision will be taken next Monday.

A week-long strict lockdown has already underway in response to the second wave of coronaviruses. The Cabinet Division issued a notification of the lockdown from April 14 to April 21 imposing restrictions on Monday afternoon.

Everything – except for emergency services, factories, transportation of goods and a limited range of bank transactions – was closed from 6:00 am on April 14 to midnight on April 21.
