Bangladesh has reported 61 more Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 11,705, according to the official figures.
Besides, 1,914 Covid-19 cases were confirmed during the period. With the latest, the tally of infections has surged to 7,65,596. Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) informed this in a press release on Tuesday (May 4, 2021).
Among the dead in the past 24 hours, 36 were male and 25 were female. It said 8.71 percent of the 21,984 samples collected in 24 hours were tested positive. In the past 24 hours, another 3,780 people were discharged from the hospital, raising the total number of cured patients to 6,95,032.
Earlier, 65 deaths and 1,739 cases were reported related to the disease yesterday. The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
